I have looked at packaging for dogs as I think it could potentially be a good idea to use for this brief. I would however try and make it unique and add my own touch to it to make it stand out from existing products.
I like the way this design has used the same image of the dog and the same typography design but simply applied it to each product by altering the name on the packaging.
I like the way this design has used the same image of the dog and the same typography design but simply applied it to each product by altering the name on the packaging.
All of the packaging gives the customer the ability to almost brand their own dog into specific categories. Each individual dog has their own characteristics and this is the perfect way to target a wide audience and produce something which appeals to a large population.
Similarly with this design the image of the dog is quite comical making it appealing to the customer, but at the same time it retains a professional feel.
The way a neutral tone has been used in the background for all of these designs works really well and it enables the image to really stand out and create impact.
Here is an image showing the full collection with all of the different imagery used. I could quite easily produce something along the same lines by using minimalistic background colouring with my design in the foreground.

I'm not as fond of this design because of the choice os colours used. It doesn't work as well to portray products for dogs and the colours are slightly garish and over the top. I much prefer subtle designs which appear much more professional and inviting.
The colour scheme of this packaging is much more sophisticated and appealing. The packaging for the leather leash is really well designed and is compact for it to fit in perfectly.
I like how the design has been applied to this brush by simply using a belly band to put around the product. I will definitely take inspiration from this when I design my packaging.
This design which has been applied to bottles looks really unique and out of the ordinary. However, for me to apply this to my work it would be challenging as it would be hard to successfully apply my design to glass.
I am not as keen on the colour scheme of this packaging. It is not my favourite style of packaging as I find it quite immature and childish. I prefer professional, simplistic styles of design. This is because it is the way in which I personally design.
I find this packaging quite comical and interesting. It is most certainly relevant to my brief as it has obvious infographics on it. This is not my style of work, however I will definitely take inspiration from it. I feel as though maybe too many colours have been used here too, and maybe too many fonts.
I think this is a really clever design idea. The pop up inside has been really well crafted and I like how the packaging forms a roof over it. It has minimal amount of information on it but just enough to portray the message it needs to. In my opinion less is more.
I think this is a really sophisticated design. The designer has used a well balanced amount of colour against the black bottle. The design on the back is also very simplistic. I like how they have used simple symbols to represent the product too, this is something I will take into consideration for my own work.
All of these containers work well with the bottles too. I like how they have simply altered the colour for each holder and obviously the image of the dog. It is a subtle alteration that changes the design completely.
This is most definitely one of my preferred designs. I like how the designer has simply used brown paper bags for the packaging with a hint of colour. The window allows the customer to see the product too, which is another plus to the design.
I like this design even more than the previous one. Mainly because is has a more organic feel to it. I love the composition of the type on the front too and the simple sticker to seal at the top.
The barcode is an element of this design I really like. The use of a bone within it is really clever and it would most certainly give me an added reason and persuade me to buy this product even more, as it is obvious just how much time has been taken to perfect this idea.

This is a much more modern, minimalist approach to dog food packaging. It almost have a space age feel about it as the packaging is so unusual and unique in comparison to average/standard packaging we would find in the shops now. It almost looks like specialist food for dogs and something a pet owner would spend a little bit extra on. I love how the packaging has been designed for all of the individual containers to be stored next to each other, at the same time forming a rectangular shape which is perfect for storing away. The colour choice is quite unusual but striking and definitely makes it stand out.

I like how the stock used here has had a positive impact on the finish of the design. It almost has a grainy feel about it and the images which are used alongside the text work really well as they are playful and fun to look at. I would definitely pick this product up if I found it in a store as it is appealing and interesting to look at.
The reverse of the packaging has also been very well designed, it is all aligned well and there is all of the relevant information for the consumer, clearly printed.
The simplicity of the simple box net works well for the food packaging as there is a secure closure on top which means that people can access the food easily whilst being sure that the food isn't going to fall out.
I quite like how this packaging has been designed with two elements to it. It has the main design on the label on the bottle but also has an additional outer packaging making the packaging a bit more hands on and interesting. The way the consumer has to tear away the outer packaging to reveal the product makes it more intriguing and exciting to purchase. I think it is a really innovative way of revealing and portraying how special the object inside is.
Once again, a stunning neutral tone has been used for the majority of the packaging, with a hint of colour to break up the design. The unique opening and well crafted handle makes it easily transportable and gives it a certain unique style. This has been designed so that the dog owner could easily tilt the packaging for the food to fall straight into the bowl. The designer has therefore considered all aspects of this design throughly and as a result has produced a successful box.
I am not as drawn to this design in comparison to the other packaging I have researched. This is because the colours are quite garish and not very classy. The chosen font is quite childish and almost too playful, but perhaps this is what the designer was aiming for, so that children would be drawn to the product.
This is a clever choice of brand name 'Bark' however I am unsure why the designer has included the orange line within the design, as I feel it is unnecessary and would be more successful without it. The colours work well together though and the packaging itself is very different and outstanding. It is clean, simple and striking.

I really love this design. Mainly because of the composition of all of the designs and the minimal use of colour. I love monochrome design and think this has been done really successfully.

Once again, an interesting choice of colour. There are a couple of fonts used here and emotive images have been used to draw attention to the packaging. There is nothing particularly different or special about this packaging but at the same time it fulfils its purpose.

This is an individual packaging design in a sense that they have incorporated humour within the design with 'The Dog's Bollocks' and they have simply added ears to the ampersand and elongated the stem to form a tail to represent dogs. I really like the logo too and the way the type has been spaced out. This draws the eye to the brand name and detracts attention away from the small type on the packaging.
