OUGD504 - Design Production: Design For Print (LGP)

As I am now designing my print information pack for LGP Leeds. I feel as though it is important to document all of their existing branding, marketing and anything I can find relating to them online. At the moment they do not market themselves as much as they could do, which is why there is a perfect gap in the market for me to apply my brief to their brand. 

I have taken screen shots from their website to start with and have covered every page on there so that I have a record of all of the information they have chosen to reveal to the public eye. I think it is really important that I thoroughly read through all of this before I start designing the layout of the publications (concertinas) because I need to fully understand their company first.

My first impression of the website was extremely positive. I absolutely love the simplicity of the layout and how they have inserting quirky images in the background of each page to help the user to differentiate from page to page. It not only serves a purpose but it is also very humorous and something which I feel can make a piece of design work memorable.

The lgp logo is simple and very versatile and applicable to different mediums. I have evidence of this as I am able to look at a notebook which they have designed to give to their clients, as well as the business cards they have.

The photography is really striking and crisp and they have thought a lot about the information they are presenting, and have tried to be as succinct as possible which I think is extremely important where the client is involved, as most of the time they don't want to be bombarded with the technicalities of the process, that is the printer's job.

Below is an image of the home page. They instantly state that they are commercial printers, which shows that this is of great importance to themselves as well as their customers, as they are there for jobs which demand a high turn over and a large quantity of print outs.

I have also posted information taken from their Facebook page. They appear to like consistency where their branding is concerned across all mediums.
